Yemen Official Criticizes "Legitimacy Begging" Via State Media

Yahya Duwaid, a member of the General Committee of the General People's Congress (GPC), has strongly condemned attempts to secure "organizational legitimacy" through state media teams and social media platforms, asserting that such actions exacerbate official, popular, and organizational exposure.

Duwaid directed his criticism in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) to the GPC representatives in the Presidential Leadership Council, and to the heads and members of the Shura Council, Parliament, cabinet, and local authorities.

He posed a pointed question to these officials: "When will you exercise reason?"

The post elaborated on his concerns, stating, "To those who advised you to beg for organizational legitimacy through the state media team and social media, they wished for nothing but increased official, popular, and organizational exposure for you. So when will you exercise reason?"
