Sheikh Ahmed bin Ahmed Al-Shuba'i, 80, died early Monday from injuries sustained ten days prior in a stabbing attack by a Houthi operative inside a mosque in Sanaa Governorate, which is under Houthi control. Local sources reported that Sheikh Al-Shuba'i passed away in a Sanaa hospital after his health deteriorated due to the stab wounds he suffered at the mosque in the village of Shuba'ah, located in the Balad al-Rous district. The sources clarified that the deceased had remained in intensive care since the incident occurred. However, his condition experienced a sharp decline in the last 48 hours, ultimately leading to his death. A Houthi operative identified as Abdullah Yahya Al-Kabsi reportedly carried out the cold-blooded stabbing of the elderly Sheikh Al-Shuba'i inside the mosque on the 24th of last month before fleeing the scene. This crime has sparked widespread anger and discontent among the local population. |
