The Masam landmine clearance project announced the removal of 6,827 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices from Yemeni territories during April. The operations included the clearance of 6,402 unexploded ordnance items, 367 anti-tank mines, 34 anti-personnel mines, and 24 explosive devices. Masam's media center stated that its teams also cleared a total area of 1,510,792 square meters during the month, as part of ongoing efforts to rehabilitate areas affected by war remnants and restore them for safe use. In the final week of April specifically, Masam teams removed 1,009 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices. This weekly total comprised 928 unexploded ordnance items, 78 anti-tank mines, and 3 anti-personnel mines, alongside the clearance of 373,455 square meters of land. Furthermore, the operations room confirmed that since the commencement of Masam's work in the Midi region, a cumulative total of 9,246 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices have been removed. These continuous efforts aim to eliminate war remnants and enhance civilian safety. |
