The United Arab Emirates announced on Monday that its air defense systems intercepted a missile attack targeting the nation, prompting authorities to urge residents to remain in safe locations and follow government guidance.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority stated that air defense systems were "dealing with a missile threat," without providing immediate details on the nature or timing of the attack.

In a separate statement, the UAE Ministry of Defence clarified that four cruise missiles originating from Iran were detected heading towards the country. The ministry indicated that air defenses intercepted three of these missiles over territorial waters, while the fourth missile fell into the sea.

The ministry added that the audible explosions heard in various parts of the country were a result of the aerial interception operations. It confirmed that the threat was successfully neutralized, with no mention of any damage or casualties.

Authorities advised the public to adhere to public safety instructions and rely on official sources for information as the situation continues to be monitored.
