Taiz health authorities have issued an urgent appeal for assistance following the report of eight deaths and over 819 cases of measles recorded in the governorate as of mid-April. Epidemiological surveillance data indicates that 71% of those infected had not received vaccinations. The critical condition of 48 children necessitated their hospitalization due to severe complications. The health office urged parents to promptly vaccinate their children at health centers offering the vaccine free of charge. It emphasized the importance of seeking immediate medical attention upon the appearance of fever or rash symptoms to enable early intervention and prevent fatalities. Authorities stressed that vaccination remains the sole effective method for preventing the lethal complications associated with the disease. |
