One armed individual was killed and three others were wounded in violent tribal clashes that erupted on Saturday evening between two armed groups in the Amran Governorate, which is under Houthi militia control. The conflict was reportedly triggered by disputes over a piece of land. A tribal source stated that the confrontations took place between armed individuals from the "Al-Ghanay" family and others from the "Dhu Ghlais" family, both belonging to the Al-Asimat tribes. The dispute stemmed from an escalating conflict over a plot of land situated near the security administration of the Al-Ashah district. According to the source, the clashes resulted in the death of one person and the injury of another from the "Al-Ghanay" side. Two individuals were wounded from the "Dhu Ghlais" side. The source further indicated that these deadly clashes occurred under the observation of the security apparatuses affiliated with the Houthi militia at the district's security administration. These forces reportedly remained passive, neither intervening to resolve the dispute nor halting the bloodshed, which has stirred public discontent regarding this apparent complicity. Tribal conflicts have noticeably increased in areas controlled by the Houthi militia. The group faces accusations of fueling these conflicts and exacerbating old feuds as a strategy to weaken tribes and dismantle their social fabric, thereby facilitating their control. |
