Citizens discovered the body of a murdered boy in the Al-Arouq neighborhood of the Airport district, north of the capital Sanaa, which is under Houthi militia control. The discovery followed an arduous search that began after his disappearance on the 24th of Ramadan.

Eyewitnesses from the neighborhood reported finding the body of the boy, Ghassan Tawfiq Hamoud Haroush, aged 14, discarded in an abandoned yard in a state of decomposition, suggesting the crime occurred days prior. Residents explained that the body's features had begun to disappear, and identification was difficult, relying solely on the clothes he was wearing on the night of his disappearance after the evening prayer.

Sources suggest that the motive behind this heinous crime was likely robbery. The boy was reportedly carrying approximately 300,000 Yemeni Riyals when he left his home in the Bir Zeid area, making him a target for looting and highway robbery gangs.

This tragic incident reflects the severe state of security breakdown and the prevalence of criminal offenses in areas controlled by the militias. Gangs involved in murder and looting are operating openly, exploiting the sharp decline in living standards and the absence of law enforcement, thereby placing the lives of citizens, particularly children, in constant danger.
