The Lebanese Republic formally decided on Tuesday to withdraw the accreditation of the designated Iranian Ambassador and has mandated his departure from the country no later than the upcoming Sunday.

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants issued a statement confirming that it summoned the Iranian Chargé d'Affaires in Beirut, Toufic Samadi Khoshkhou. The Ministry’s Director-General, Ambassador Abdel Sattar Issa, subsequently informed the Chargé d'Affaires of the Lebanese government's decision to revoke the agrément for the designated Ambassador, Mohammad Reza Sheibani, thereby declaring him persona non grata.

The official directive requires the Iranian Ambassador to vacate Lebanese territory by the deadline set for Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the latest.
