A catastrophic fire resulting from a domestic gas cylinder explosion at a distribution agency in the Al-Jufaynah area of Marib, eastern Yemen, has resulted in the death of one person and injuries to seven others, including several minors. According to security media affiliated with the Yemeni Ministry of Interior on Sunday, Civil Defense authorities confirmed that the blaze claimed the life of the agency owner, identified as Awad Ahmed Rakan, aged 40. Seven other individuals sustained injuries, including children whose ages range between 10 and 16 years. The official statement indicated that the incident occurred while the deceased was in the process of unloading a gas cylinder. A subsequent gas leak ignited, leading to the outbreak of the fire. Civil Defense attributed the cause of the tragedy to negligence and a failure to adhere to established safety procedures and standards when handling gas and flammable materials. Authorities reiterated urgent warnings emphasizing the necessity of strict compliance with safety protocols to avert similar disasters. |
