Southern Giants Forces Seize 623 Kg of Narcotics Near Bab el-Mandeb Strait

Forces affiliated with the Southern Giants Brigades successfully intercepted a smuggling vessel approximately 25 nautical miles off the coast of Al-Khawrah in Yemen's Lahij Governorate, seizing a substantial cache of narcotics.

A source within the security campaign confirmed that a naval patrol managed to apprehend the boat following a meticulous tracking and surveillance operation. The vessel was found to be transporting 623 kilograms of illicit substances, and four smugglers aboard were subsequently detained.

The confiscated shipment comprised 521 kilograms of methamphetamine (Shabu) and 102 kilograms of heroin, according to the source.

Authorities have secured the seized narcotics and transferred the apprehended smugglers to custody to facilitate ongoing investigations. The next procedural step involves referring the suspects and the contraband to the competent legal authorities for the requisite legal action.
