Military Seizes Munitions and Communications Gear Near Mukalla

The Second Military Region announced early Friday, March 13, 2026, that its Shuhair military checkpoint, located east of Mukalla and affiliated with the Al-Rayan Brigade, successfully intercepted a cache of munitions and wireless communication devices from a bus driver during routine inspection procedures.

Brigadier General Khalid Ahmed Al-Tamimi, Commander of the Al-Rayan Brigade, commended the efforts and heightened vigilance demonstrated by the checkpoint personnel in executing their duties. He emphasized that this successful operation underscores the high level of readiness and discipline maintained by the brigade's members in fulfilling their national obligations.

Brigadier General Al-Tamimi affirmed that the Al-Rayan Brigade will continue to intensify surveillance and inspection activities across various military checkpoints. This sustained effort is intended to bolster security and stability while actively countering any attempts at smuggling or violations that could compromise the safety of Hadhramaut Governorate.

The checkpoint commander, Lieutenant Mohammed Mahmoud, detailed that the seizure was conducted in adherence to established military protocols designed to reinforce security and elevate alertness levels. He confirmed that the confiscated materials have been secured, and necessary legal proceedings against the driver are being finalized in accordance with prevailing regulations.
