U.S. Treasury Imposes new sanctions on 11 Entities for Funding Houthi rebels

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against 11 companies and entities accused of financing the Houthi rebels in Yemen. In a statement posted by the U.S. Embassy in Yemen on X, the Treasury Secretary said: “The Houthis threaten the United States by committing acts of terrorism and attacking commercial vessels transiting the Red Sea. The Treasury Department is taking action to cut off funding for nearly twenty individuals and entities involved in oil transfers, weapons supply, and financial services for this Iran-backed terrorist organization. We will use all available tools to expose networks and individuals supporting Houthi terrorism.” The sanctioned entities include: Sa’a Petroleum and Shipping, Adima Oil Company, Al-Sharafi Oil Services, Wadi Kabir Logistics (WKC), New Ocean Trading, Jannat Al-Anhar General Trading, Barash Aviation and Shipping Ltd. |
