The Yemeni Ministry of Interior announced the apprehension and dismantling of several Houthi militia cells and networks operating in the interim capital, Aden, and the governorates of Lahj and Abyan during September. The ministry stated that these cells were planning attacks targeting security and military leaders, vital facilities, military reinforcements, and supply lines.

During a press conference in Aden, the Undersecretary for Security and Police Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Major General Mohammed Musaed Al-Amer, detailed the operations. He highlighted the significant operation in Lahj Governorate on September 26th, which resulted in the arrest of a network comprising 18 individuals. Additionally, a cell found in possession of explosive devices was apprehended in the Dar Saad district of Aden. Another cell of two individuals was dismantled in the Lawdar district of Abyan Governorate, alongside a female cell in Lahj.

Al-Amer further explained that investigations revealed the network members had received training in surveillance, monitoring, planting explosive devices, and executing targeted operations. He emphasized that security measures successfully thwarted these plans before their execution.

The Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haydan, affirmed the continuation of security efforts and coordination among relevant agencies to bolster security and stability. He noted that the accused individuals will be referred to the competent judicial authorities upon completion of investigations and evidence collection.
