Yemeni government forces announced on Friday the successful interception of five explosive-laden drones belonging to the Houthi militia in the northern Al Jawf Governorate, following significant territorial gains by their troops in the same sector. The Armed Forces' Media Center reported via its X account that the air defense units of the Sixth Military Region downed the five Houthi drones during their flight east of Al Hazm, the provincial capital of Al Jawf. Earlier, government forces had consolidated control over the Al Muthaffat positions, Tabbat Al Masariya, and adjacent hills to Tabbat Al Faraid, north of the Al Libnat Al Ulaya area. Field military sources indicated that the advance extended to earthen berms and trenches approximately 20 kilometers from the Al Dahida sites, passing through Al Sa'ara and reaching Bir Al Maraziq, east of Al Hazm. The fronts in Al Jawf Governorate have witnessed escalating military activity in recent days, characterized by maneuvers from government forces and engagements with the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. |
