A 10-year-old girl sustained injuries from mortar shelling in the Al-Arjam area of Wadi Saleh, east of Taiz city in southwestern Yemen. According to a local source, Houthi militias targeted residential neighborhoods in Wadi Saleh with several mortar shells. One shell struck the courtyard of the home inhabited by the family of the child, Rafit Abdul Qawi Taher Abdul Rahman. The shelling resulted in the child suffering a shrapnel wound to her right forearm, affecting the movement of her index finger. She has been transferred to the military hospital for treatment. This incident follows reports of civilian casualties from Houthi attacks in Taiz. The local health office previously reported 69 killed and injured due to Houthi aggressions over a two-week period. The ongoing conflict continues to impact civilian populations, with separate reports indicating damage to homes and security incidents in other areas of Yemen. |
