Four children were killed and thirteen others injured, some critically, on Monday when an explosive remnant from the Houthi militia detonated in the village of Al-Ribi, north of the Hajar district in Al Dhale Governorate. Local sources reported that the explosive device detonated unexpectedly while the children were in the area. The incident resulted in four fatalities and thirteen casualties with injuries of varying severity, prompting widespread panic and grief among the villagers. The injured children were promptly transported to the field hospital in the Sannah area to receive immediate medical attention and necessary treatment. The administration of the Sannah field hospital issued an urgent distress call, which was circulated by local activists, appealing to citizens to donate blood to save the lives of the injured, several of whom sustained severe and critical wounds. Al Dhale Governorate is among the Yemeni regions heavily affected by the remnants of war, including landmines and explosive devices, which have caused numerous civilian casualties, including children and women, in recent years. |
