Yemen stands at a critical historical juncture, facing an existential struggle that transcends political compromise and futile negotiations. The nation grapples with unprecedented humanitarian suffering, exacerbated by a complete political deadlock and the failure of regional and international approaches that have attempted to appease the Houthi militia while preserving the internationally recognized Yemeni state.

Amidst this impasse, a comprehensive Yemeni awakening is emerging, uniting diverse segments of society—intellectuals, academics, politicians, tribes, and citizens—across Houthi-controlled territories and liberated governorates. This broad front, leveraging social media and public spaces, voices a unified demand: to end the Houthi nightmare, overthrow the coup, and restore legitimate state institutions, with the historic capital, Sana'a, being the linchpin for achieving genuine and sustainable peace.

The primary catalyst for this escalating popular movement is the severe deterioration of living conditions, health, education, and security. In Houthi-controlled areas, citizens endure systematic starvation and oppression, characterized by the looting of salaries, confiscation of property, imposition of unjust taxes, and the systematic erosion of national identity through sectarian curricula designed to indoctrinate future generations. Schools have become recruitment camps, and families bear unbearable financial burdens, alongside a complete collapse of the healthcare system, rampant epidemics, escalating crime, and security crackdowns on any dissent. Even in liberated governorates, the situation remains dire, with citizens facing a suffocating economic crisis due to the historical collapse of the national currency, inadequate basic services like electricity and water, and weak governmental performance in addressing economic challenges.

This shared tragic reality has fostered a firm conviction among Yemenis that the continuation of the current situation or acceptance of fragile settlements amounts to a slow death. Consequently, the current awakening is driven by profound humanitarian needs and national dignity, clearly articulating that overthrowing the coup is the mandatory gateway to comprehensive structural reform and salvation.

Yemen's conscious revolution looks towards the Presidential Leadership Council and the internationally recognized legitimate government, urging them to immediately and responsibly embrace their national and moral mandate. The Yemeni street believes the time for justifications and waiting has passed, necessitating a transition to decisive action. This involves unifying all political, military, and economic efforts under a single, unwavering strategic objective: liberating Sana'a and ending the rebellion. Yemeni elites are calling on the legitimate leadership to implement radical reforms within state institutions, combat corruption, activate oversight bodies, and reorganize the economic sector to halt currency depreciation and improve living conditions in liberated areas, thereby presenting an attractive model of statehood, order, and law.

Furthermore, there are strong demands for integrating all military and security formations under unified operational commands subordinate to the Ministries of Defense and Interior. All resources and military arsenals should be directed towards the frontlines to confront the common Houthi enemy. The Yemeni people implore their leaders today to seize the initiative and demonstrate historical courage by making momentous decisions that fulfill the aspirations of millions who have sacrificed their blood and wealth to reclaim their usurped republic and secure a better future for their children.

The messages from the Yemeni awakening extend beyond domestic concerns to the regional community and international actors involved in the Yemeni file. Yemenis are urgently appealing to their Arab brethren and international friends to rescue the country from the clutches of the Houthi coup and cross-border terrorism. Yemeni elites emphasize through media and social platforms that the Yemeni issue should not be reduced or used as leverage for political settlements or bargains, whether with the Iranian regime in the context of its regional and international affairs or with the Houthi militia itself, which has repeatedly proven its lack of seriousness or commitment to any pacts or agreements.

Observers note that the policy of appeasing or diplomatically containing the Houthis has granted them ample time to enhance their military capabilities, threatening the national security of Yemen and its neighbors, as well as international navigation routes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, thereby harming the global economy. Consequently, popular demands urge the coalition and the international community to rectify their approach by providing comprehensive, sustainable, and qualitative military, logistical, and technical support to the national army and popular resistance to decisively win the battle on the ground and impose peace through the force of law and international justice.

The core Yemeni vision, encompassing societal and political perspectives, is that the capital, Sana'a, is the pulsating heart and the political and historical center of gravity for Yemen. Without its liberation and purification from the sectarian militia's defilement, there can be no stable Yemen or genuine peace. Discussions of political settlements that leave Sana'a under Houthi control and legitimize their coup authority are mere illusions, delaying future explosions and wars that would be far more destructive and brutal.

Intellectual discourse from the pioneers of the awakening movement posits that Sana'a is the sole and necessary starting point for a just peace that preserves Yemenis' dignity, freedom, and republican system. It is also the key to ending the culture of discrimination, classism, and the illusions of divine right to rule that the militia seeks to impose by force of arms. Therefore, the Yemeni street categorically rejects any projects of division, fragile federalism, or power-sharing governments before the complete dismantling of all Houthi coup manifestations, the handover of heavy and medium weapons to the state, and the return of its constitutional and political institutions to operate from the mother capital, Sana'a, to oversee a genuine transitional phase that builds a new Yemen based on equal citizenship and social justice.

The digital sphere and social media platforms have played a pivotal role in shaping and disseminating this new national spirit. Personal accounts, groups, and virtual discussions have transformed into intellectual and awareness-raising operations that have successfully exposed Houthi falsehoods and revealed the extent of human rights violations and tragedies faced by citizens. These digital efforts have coalesced to create a collective consciousness that rejects submission to suffering or acceptance of temporary political palliatives. The voice of the Yemeni citizen now seeks the radical and final solution: the restoration of the state and the republic.

Elites emphasize that this digital and popular movement is not a fleeting phenomenon but an authentic expression of a nation's will, rejecting death and theocracy, and aspiring to freedom and a dignified life. It represents a renewed popular mandate for the legitimate leadership, the Arab coalition, and the international community to proceed with decisiveness, overcoming all obstacles and international pressures that seek to keep Yemen in a state of neither peace nor war, serving destructive expansionist agendas in the region.

Popular and elite hopes in Yemen converge to form an unwavering national covenant, charting the path towards the desired future, transcending the bitterness of the present and the missteps of the past. The will of the people is paramount, and the revolution of consciousness sweeping through Yemen's cities, villages, and digital spaces daily is the fundamental guarantee for protecting national constants and defending republican and systemic gains.

The persistent demand for the overthrow of the coup and the restoration of the state and its capital, Sana'a, remains the compass and sacred charter around which all forces opposing the malicious Iranian project must rally. This is a call for unity and concerted action to forge a new dawn that restores security and stability to the blessed Yemen, placing it in its rightful and leading position within its Arab neighborhood as a sovereign state governed by law, where justice and equal citizenship prevail, far from the nightmare of weapons, destruction, and foreign dependency.
