A United Nations Security Council sanctions committee team has arrived in Aden, Yemen's interim capital, for an official visit aimed at assessing the latest developments in the country.

The delegation will hold extensive meetings with government officials, military and security leaders, and representatives from human rights organizations. A source within the team informed Akhbar News Agency that the visit's focus is on evaluating the general situation in Yemen. This assessment will culminate in a comprehensive report to be submitted to the UN Security Council, detailing political, military, security, and economic developments amidst the ongoing conflict and its humanitarian consequences.

The source further indicated that the team is discussing human rights issues, monitoring violations, documenting crimes against civilians, efforts to protect them, and information-sharing mechanisms to improve victim access and international response effectiveness.

In a related development, the sanctions committee team is conducting formal meetings with officials from the National Committee for Investigation into Allegations of Human Rights Violations. The objective is to review violation documentation procedures, assess the humanitarian situation, and explore avenues to enhance accountability and combat impunity.
