The family of detained human rights lawyer Abdul Majeed Sabra has revealed they are receiving threats from Houthi security elements, indicating an intention to extend his detention and pursue family members for their social media activism demanding his release.

Waleed Sabra, the detained lawyer's brother, stated on Facebook that during a recent visit, a Houthi security supervisor identified as "Abu Saree'" told his brother, "Don't smile, you are our guest for two years." This remark has intensified the family's concerns regarding the legal basis for such extended detention without due process.

The pressure has extended beyond the detained lawyer to his family directly. Another security leader, "Abu Amir Al-Sana'ani," allegedly threatened to detain one of the lawyer's brothers who is active on social media, according to the family.

The family views these threats as a clear attempt to silence opposition and intimidate relatives, thereby preventing them from advocating for their brother's freedom or raising awareness among the public and human rights organizations.

Abdul Majeed Sabra is a prominent human rights lawyer known for defending individuals detained for expressing opinions and in political cases. His continued detention has drawn widespread condemnation from local and international human rights and legal circles, who are reiterating their calls for his immediate release and that of all arbitrarily detained individuals.
