A young Yemeni man, known for performing acrobatic stunts inside a volcanic crater, died on Friday after falling during a performance in the Al-Dhale province.

Local sources informed "Khabar" news agency that the individual, identified as Al-Qa'qa' bin Antar, fell while scaling the internal rock wall of the Haradhat Damt crater and executing a display. He sustained fatal injuries at the scene.

Sources confirmed that Al-Qa'qa' bin Antar had gained notoriety in recent years for undertaking dangerous performances within the volcanic crater by climbing its sheer rock faces from the inside. These stunts were performed despite the hazardous terrain and the absence of safety equipment or emergency exits.

Attempts were made to contact rescue teams from the district center, which is under Houthi control, following the incident. However, according to local sources, the response was not sufficiently prompt, which prevented his rescue.

Haradhat Damt is recognized as a prominent natural landmark in the old town of Damt district. It is a volcanic crater situated atop a mountain in the ancient city of Damt. Access is provided by an iron staircase comprising over 115 steps, with the internal depth of the crater reaching approximately 120 meters amidst steep, rocky terrain.

The stunts regularly performed by Al-Qa'qa' bin Antar inside the crater had previously raised concerns and warnings from local residents and observers due to the significant risks involved, compounded by the lack of safety apparatus and the absence of internal ladders or pathways that could be utilized in emergency situations.
