A security officer was killed by unknown gunmen on Tuesday evening in the Al-Sanah market in the Qa'tabah district, north of Al Dhale'e Governorate, in central Yemen. Local sources stated that the officer, identified as Mohammed Al-Najjar, known by the nickname "Ba'roor," was shot multiple times in the head by assailants while serving at the Al-Sanah market. The attack resulted in his immediate death. Following the shooting, intense and indiscriminate gunfire erupted in the vicinity of the market. The perpetrators managed to escape to an unknown location. The motives behind the attack and the identities of those responsible remain unclear at this time. The victim's body has been transported to a morgue in Al Dhale'e city, the governorate's capital. Security forces have initiated extensive investigations and manhunt operations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and apprehend the perpetrators. Various areas within Al Dhale'e Governorate periodically experience assassinations and armed attacks targeting security and military personnel, amid the complex security situation that has plagued the country for years. |
