Houthi militiamen executed a civilian in cold blood in front of his child at a checkpoint in Al Jawf governorate on Wednesday, April 22. The horrific act has ignited widespread public and tribal outrage in the region.

Local sources reported that militia elements stationed at the "Marikh checkpoint" opened direct and heavy fire on the young man, Mabkhout Hadi, as he was driving his vehicle. The sources confirmed that the execution occurred without prior warning or any stated charges, highlighting the brutality of the incident as the victim's seven-year-old child sat beside him, witnessing his father's death by militia gunfire.

This crime occurs amidst unprecedented unrest and escalating tensions in Al Jawf governorate between the Houthi militia and the tribes of "Daham" and their supporters from the "Bakil" tribes. Tribal gatherings have continued for the fourth consecutive day at "Matareh Al Yatmh," protesting the Houthi's oppressive policies. The demonstrations were also prompted by an earlier Houthi military campaign that resulted in the abduction of Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid Fadgham Al Hazmi.
