One person was killed and three others were injured on Tuesday in tribal clashes that erupted between armed individuals in the Amran Governorate, north of the capital, Sana'a. Local sources reported that the clashes broke out over a land dispute between armed men from the Al-Ghanayel and Dhu Ghlais families, both belonging to the Al-Asaymat tribes, in the Suwayr district. The sources further clarified that the confrontations resulted in the death of one member of the Al-Ghanayel family and the injury of another. Two individuals from the Dhu Ghlais family sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire between the two parties. The sources attributed the cause of the dispute to a disagreement over land ownership located near a security administration building controlled by the Houthi militia. Amidst the absence of state institutions and continuing security instability, accusations have been leveled against the group for fueling tribal conflicts and exacerbating disputes within the governorate. |
