Torrential floods sweeping across several districts in Taiz Governorate, including Mawza, Al-Mawsa, and Al-Wazi'iyah, have resulted in the deaths of ten individuals and substantial damage to property and agricultural lands. Local sources confirmed that the death toll rose, with four fatalities reported in the Mawza district, including one woman. In the rural areas of Al-Mawsa, five children and one adult citizen perished. The deluge impacted various areas, such as the Al-Nujaybah region, causing the loss of life alongside the destruction of personal belongings and livestock. Residents of Al-Mawsa have declared the city devastated, stating that floodwaters submerged homes and carried livestock and citizens' possessions into the sea, leaving behind extensive ruin and severe humanitarian suffering. Reports indicate that more than six homes were destroyed, rendering numerous families homeless. Affected citizens have issued an urgent appeal for assistance to the Presidential Leadership Council, relief organizations, and relevant authorities. They are demanding immediate intervention to provide essential humanitarian aid, including shelter, food, and medicine, given the tragic circumstances. Search operations are reportedly ongoing for several missing persons.
