Child Accidentally Discharges Firearm, Critically Injuring Five Family Members in Amran

Five members of a single family sustained critical injuries on Wednesday following a tragic shooting incident in the Jabal Iyal Yazid district of Amran Governorate, which is currently under Houthi militia control, caused accidentally by a ten-year-old child.

A tribal source from the "Shahrān" area reported that the child, belonging to the "Mohammed Hussein Azzan" family, mishandled a firearm present in the home. The child reportedly disengaged the safety mechanism and set the weapon to automatic fire mode, resulting in a barrage of bullets striking nearby family members.

The source confirmed that the child's mother, siblings, and sisters suffered severe wounds and were subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition. The source emphasized that shock has enveloped the region following this devastating incident.

The proliferation of weaponry in areas controlled by the militia, coupled with a notable absence of public awareness campaigns, continues to pose a direct threat to civilian lives, particularly women and children within their residences, amidst recurring incidents fueled by the prevailing security chaos.
