A civilian was killed on Tuesday morning by the explosion of a landmine, remnants of the Houthi militia's activity, in the coastal Hodeidah Governorate in western Yemen, marking another casualty attributed to explosive devices in the region.

Local sources confirmed that the victim, identified as Ahmed Saeed Mohammed Raziq, 40 years old, perished instantly when the mine detonated while he was tending to his flock near his residence in the Hays district.

The incident reportedly caused immediate shock and deep grief among the victim's family and neighbors. This event highlights the persistent threat posed by unexploded ordnance in the area.

Human rights reports indicate that landmines extensively planted by Houthi militias across Hodeidah’s farmlands, roadways, and residential areas continue to pose a sustained danger to civilian life. These lethal traps have claimed hundreds of lives in recent years, disproportionately affecting women and children, as vast swathes of the governorate remain contaminated.
