Giant Brigades, Shield of the Nation Secure Bab el-Mandeb Strait and Perim Island

The Giant Brigades and the Shield of the Nation forces announced on Friday the complete recapture of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and Perim Island following a large-scale military operation supported by Arab Coalition airstrikes.

A military source stated that the forces successfully liberated Al-Ardi camp and gained control of Coastal Guard observation points. They also reclaimed the mountain range overlooking the strait, which holds strategic importance for securing maritime navigation.

The source further confirmed that the operation resulted in the complete liberation of Perim Island from Houthi presence, asserting that the strait, the island, and their commanding strategic positions are now outside the control of the Houthi militia.

It was noted that the completion of control over Bab el-Mandeb and Perim Island followed the expiration of a deadline given to the encircled militia elements in the area for days, as part of the military operation aimed at regaining control of vital locations and securing the strategic strait.

According to the source, the forces involved in the operation, with the support of Arab Coalition aviation, managed to recapture the targeted sites, including the heights and observation posts overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
