Saudi Airports Attacked: 3 Dead, Dozens Injured in Houthi Strikes

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation has confirmed that Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport were targeted in separate attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 6-7, 2026, resulting in three fatalities and numerous injuries. Houthi militia has been identified as responsible for the assaults, which struck airport facilities. Emergency response teams and relevant authorities immediately addressed both incidents according to established procedures.

The attack on Abha International Airport led to the deaths of two residents, one Moroccan and one Algerian national. Additionally, 28 individuals, including citizens and residents, sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe. Among the injured were two individuals of Bangladeshi and Filipino nationality.

At King Khalid International Airport, the assault resulted in the death of one resident of Sudanese nationality and injuries to eight others. The injured at this location included five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident, with injuries also varying from minor to severe.

The Authority stated that all injured individuals were promptly transported to hospitals for necessary medical treatment. Material damage was reported at the facilities of both airports as a result of the attacks.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation is coordinating with security agencies to assess the damage and implement measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, thereby maintaining the security and integrity of the civil aviation system within the Kingdom.
