A child was killed and a woman was injured on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, when Houthi militia forces shelled a home in the Sala area, east of the city of Taiz in southwestern Yemen. Local sources reported that the deceased child, Yousef Abdul Warith Karami, was 15 years old. The injured woman, Awatif Abdullah, 29, sustained shrapnel wounds across her body following the mortar attack on the residence, which was carried out by Houthi militia forces.
