A deliberate act of sabotage targeting the electricity network in Yemen's Al Mahra Governorate has resulted in a widespread power outage affecting numerous consumers. The incident, which occurred early Monday, has been condemned by the General Electricity Corporation. The corporation reported that unidentified individuals stole a 20-meter cable powering a circuit breaker connecting the main line to the "Fawri" water area. The perpetrators then forcibly removed the breaker, causing it to be completely damaged and burned. The attack also led to the burning of approximately 15 meters of the main power cable. The General Electricity Corporation highlighted that these damages have resulted in significant financial losses and extensive technical damage to the electricity infrastructure. In a statement, the corporation characterized the incident as a "direct targeting of a vital service facility and public property." It issued a stern warning regarding the severe repercussions such destructive actions have on the continuity of electricity services for the residents. |
