Violent tribal clashes erupted in the Al-Mustawtena district of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, on Wednesday evening, between members of the Al-Maraziq and Al-Bobakr bin Dahha tribes. The conflict was triggered by the killing of a member of the Al-Maraziq tribe, creating significant tension and anxiety among residents. Local sources reported that the confrontations began following the death of citizen Bin Mujarrah Al-Marziqi, who was killed on Tuesday night in the capital's complex. An individual belonging to the Al-Bobakr bin Dahha tribe was accused of involvement in the incident, which subsequently escalated tensions and renewed clashes between the two parties. The clashes instilled widespread panic among the district's residents, with fears of the conflict expanding and escalating into a broader tribal dispute, given the presence of firearms and armed individuals in the area. Both tribal groups are affiliated with the Al Awaliq clans in Shabwa Governorate.
