Clerics and preachers from Yemen's West Coast, spanning Taiz and Hodeidah governorates, convened in Mokha city to unify religious discourse and bolster societal support for government forces against Houthi militias. The meeting addressed strategies for mobilizing the community to support military fronts and counter Houthi attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in the West Coast, Taiz, Marib, Dhale, and other governorates. Participants also discussed the threat posed to navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab strait. Attendees emphasized the crucial role of religious scholars and orators in refuting Houthi falsehoods and slogans, clarifying the religious stance on attacks against Mokha port, vessels, and civilian assets. They stressed the importance of exposing the militia's justifications for its aggressions and raising public awareness about the dangers of Yemen being exploited to serve Iran's Revolutionary Guard agenda. The gathering underscored the necessity of promoting moderation and tolerance, preserving Yemeni religious and cultural identity, and reinforcing national loyalty and belonging. It also called for unity, the abandonment of discord, strengthening social cohesion, countering Houthi propaganda, and rallying efforts towards restoring the state and the capital, Sanaa. Participants reiterated the significance of continued support in confronting the Houthi-Iranian project, which threatens Yemen, the region, and international navigation. They stressed the imperative of directing religious discourse to uphold national principles and bolster societal resilience against existing challenges. |
