Militia forces affiliated with the Houthi movement renewed their bombardment of Marib city on Saturday, striking residential areas and densely populated camps for displaced persons with ballistic missiles. This escalation poses a significant threat to civilian lives and refugee settlements. A military source confirmed to the Armed Forces Media Center that government forces are resolute in fulfilling their national duty to protect civilians and confront Houthi aggression. These efforts will continue until the state is restored and the capital, Sana'a, is liberated from Houthi control. The source indicated that the armed forces will respond to these "terrorist" Houthi attacks at an appropriate time and place, aiming to deter the militia and safeguard civilians and public interests. This latest escalation follows Houthi attacks on Friday targeting the Al-Naseem and Al-Mil camps north of Marib city. These previous attacks resulted in the deaths of two civilians and injuries to fourteen others, predominantly women and children. The Houthi militia persists in its intensified targeting of civilians and displaced persons' camps, while the armed forces maintain their readiness to address threats and uphold their responsibility in protecting Marib city and its inhabitants. |
