Yemeni government forces successfully shot down a Houthi drone on Friday as it flew over military sites in the Al-Raseed front, part of the 19th Infantry Brigade in the Beihan district, north of Shabwah Governorate. The incident occurred amidst ongoing military tensions along the lines of contact with the Hareeb front, located in the southern Marib Governorate. Military sources reported that army units detected the drone immediately upon its entry into the front's military airspace. They engaged and successfully downed the aircraft, thwarting its mission and preventing it from reaching its intended targets within military positions. According to the sources, the drone attack resulted in one soldier sustaining severe injuries, leading to the amputation of one of his legs. The injured soldier was promptly evacuated and transported for necessary medical care. The Beihan fronts have been frequently subjected to drone attacks and reciprocal artillery shelling, reflecting the continued military escalation between government forces and Houthi militias in several areas of engagement. |
