Security Forces Dismantle Major Drug Lab, Arrest Traffickers in Tarim Operation

Security forces in the Tarim district of Hadhramaut Governorate have successfully executed a significant operation, dismantling a specialized cell responsible for manufacturing and promoting the illicit narcotic substance known as "Shabu." The police confirmed that the proactive security action, executed based on precise intelligence and direct coordination with the Tarim Primary Prosecution Office, resulted in the apprehension of one suspect identified as (A.A.B.). Preliminary investigations revealed the suspect confessed to the promotion, distribution, and use of narcotics. During the arrest at his residence, authorities seized approximately 65 grams of Shabu along with drug paraphernalia. Further searches, authorized by the Prosecution Office, uncovered materials and equipment used in the synthesis of Shabu, linked to an individual of foreign nationality. The manufacturing site was found equipped with rudimentary means and various chemical precursors, including several acids. Notably, the operation also led to the confiscation of several explosive ordnance and explosive materials discovered within the premises. In a related development, police detained three additional individuals found intoxicated. These individuals were found in possession of hashish and intoxicating substances. They have since been imprisoned and referred to the Public Prosecution for due legal process. The Tarim Police affirmed their ongoing commitment to pursuing all individuals implicated in drug-related offenses. They emphasized that decisive action will be taken against anyone found coordinating, collaborating with, or harboring lawless elements. The police also highly commended the cooperation of local citizens in reporting such illicit activities, stressing that this collaboration is fundamental to enhancing security and stability in the region. |
