KSrelief support Prosthetics Centers in Yemen

 With support from KSrelief The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Yemen's Taiz Governorate provided medical services during February 2026 to 674 beneficiaries who had lost limbs.

The project delivered 2,174 services during the month. Male beneficiaries accounted for 60% and females 40%, while displaced persons represented 13% and residents 87%.

Services included fitting, measuring, and maintaining prosthetic limbs, as well as physical therapy and specialized consultations.
The number of Yemenis affected with various injuries as a result of mines planted by the Houthi rebels, according to the international committee of the red cross, reached more than 2.2 million cases across Yemen, which resulted in many cases of amputation.  

KS Relief is supporting and financing prosthetics projects throughout Yemen through the localization and improvement of prosthetics services and rehabilitation and assisting people with special needs with their involvement in social life.

KS Relief have been helping raising the capabilities of the workers at the prosthetics centers with the latest medical sciences and modern technologies.

A new prosthetics center in “Aden” governorate was launched targeting approximately 1400 beneficiaries, with production capacity to reach the manufacture and installation of 300 prosthetics.

In addition to providing maintenance and technical rehabilitation services for 150 prosthetics and 950 beneficiaries of physical therapy and rehabilitation services for amputation patients.

The centre for prosthetics in Aden is the fourth centre that has been active after the “Saioun” center in “Hadramout” governorate in Yemen, where “KS Relief” contributes to supporting and operating four industrial limb centers in the governorates of Aden, Maareb, Taiz and Hadramout.

More than 1630 modern prosthetics have been installed in prosthetics centres throughout Yemen, and these projects have provided job opportunities for more than 160 Yemeni administrative and technical personnel.
