Iranian state television previously confirmed the death of Qasem Soleimani, an event analysts suggest underscores a strategic "eradication" policy extending beyond decapitating specific organizational leaders.

The passing of Soleimani is reportedly prompting renewed calls for the complete dismantling of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) structure.
