Aden security forces intercepted a large shipment of over 2.16 million narcotic pills, identified as Pregabalin, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The seizure occurred at the Al-Alam checkpoint east of the temporary capital, Aden, when the drugs were discovered hidden within a refrigerated transport truck originating from the Al-Abr region. An operational source within the forces securing the temporary capital of Aden reported that personnel at the Al-Alam checkpoint discovered the substantial quantity of illicit pills during routine inspection procedures. The truck was stopped due to suspicious activity, and a thorough search revealed the drugs concealed within a camouflaged section of the vehicle's trailer. The source further stated that the confiscated items were documented, and two individuals were detained. One suspect hails from Marib Governorate, and the other from Sana'a Governorate. Initial seizure reports have been compiled, and the suspects, along with the seized drugs, will be transferred to the specialized criminal prosecution for legal proceedings. Brigadier General Naji Al-Yahri, commander of the forces surrounding the temporary capital of Aden, commended the vigilance and efficiency of the Al-Alam checkpoint personnel in thwarting the smuggling attempt.
