The Houthi militia has been holding a tribal leader in Dhamar Governorate, central Yemen, for over a week.

Tribal sources reported that Houthi militia elements in the city of Dhamar abducted Sheikh Sadiq Ahmed Saeed Al-Rajhi early last week. The abduction occurred without declared reasons, charges, or legal proceedings, and he was subsequently placed in one of the militia's detention facilities in the city.

Elders and relatives of Sheikh Al-Rajhi have demanded that the militia disclose the reasons for his detention and secure his swift release. They have also threatened escalation should he not be freed.

This incident occurs amid ongoing violations by the militia against tribal sheikhs and figures in various governorates under their control.
