Sheikh Yahya bin Ali Al-Hajouri, a prominent Salafist scholar, has expressed his support for the tribal gatherings in Al Jawf, emphasizing that their mobilization to aid a woman seeking protection aligns with Islamic legal principles and the duty to support the oppressed.

Al-Hajouri's statements were made in an audio recording, responding to inquiries about the convergence of tribal groups from various Yemeni governorates. These groups answered the call of tribal leader Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi, a key figure among the Daham tribes, to support a woman identifying herself as "Meera Saddam Hussein," who is reportedly held by the Houthi militia. The objective of the mobilization is to secure her release and reclaim her property in Sana'a.

Al-Hajouri clarified that the tribes gathered in Al Jawf are united by a principle that does not contradict Islamic evidence. He explained that the woman sought refuge and assistance from them, describing her as "an oppressed woman who sought refuge with the honorable, chivalrous, and generous tribes of Daham and others."

He cited the Prophet Muhammad's saying, "Support your brother, whether he is an oppressor or is oppressed," underscoring that aiding the oppressed is a religious obligation, irrespective of lineage or affiliation.

Al-Hajouri affirmed that the tribal gathering in Al Jawf is for the support of a woman they deem oppressed, adding, "Supporting the oppressed is obligatory, and this, by God, is honor and dignity for them before God and before righteous servants."

Yemeni tribes continue to arrive at the Al Rayyan gathering site in Al Jawf Governorate for the tenth consecutive day, responding to the call of tribal leader Hamad bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi. This comes amid the failure of tribal mediation efforts and the continued intransigence of the Houthi militia, which has refused to meet the demands of the gathered tribes for the release of "Meera Saddam Hussein" and her handover to the Al Karama gathering site. This situation portends a significant tribal escalation in the coming days.
