A prominent Houthi leader, responsible for rapid intervention forces within the group's rescue units, has been killed during armed confrontations with tribesmen from Hamdan in Al Hazm, the capital of Al Jawf governorate. The incident occurred amidst escalating tribal tensions in the region, which is under Houthi control.

Tribal sources reported that Hamdan tribes successfully broke a siege imposed by Houthi forces on the village of Kharbat Al Ali, one of Al Hazm's largest villages. This was achieved after a counter-attack by tribal fighters, which resulted in the damage and destruction of two Houthi military vehicles and casualties among the militia. Tensions and mobilization remain high between both parties.

According to the sources, the clashes erupted after members of the Hamdan tribes established a tribal blockade to demand rights and dues they claim are still pending from the Houthi leader Abu Badr Zur'ah, commander of the so-called "Sixth Military Region." The militia subsequently deployed a security campaign to forcibly dismantle the blockade, leading to violent confrontations that caused fatalities and injuries on both sides.

The sources indicated that anger and mobilization are prevalent among the Hamdan tribes, who accuse Houthi leader Abu Badr Zur'ah of orchestrating the military campaign against them due to their demands for their rights.

In a related development, tribal elders from Hamdan have appealed to Sheikh Hamad bin Rashid bin Fadgham Al Hazmi and the tribes of Yemen for support in confronting Houthi escalation, amid concerns that the scope of the confrontations could widen in the coming hours.
