Residents and officials from Hajjah Governorate convened in Marib city to offer condolences to the families of victims targeted in a recent attack by Houthi militias in the Hayran district, which resulted in the death of eight civilians, including two children, and the injury of five others.

The condolence delegation included the Commander of the Popular Resistance in the Tihamah region and Shura Council member, Mr. Mahdi Al-Hatif, alongside local authority leadership, civil and military officials, tribal sheikhs, dignitaries, and a large contingent of Hajjah residents.

Hajjah Deputy Governor Mohammed Yaqoub asserted that the blood of the victims represents a sacred trust, stressing that such atrocities will not diminish the resolve of the Yemeni people. He affirmed their commitment to continuing the conflict until the elimination of the Houthi militias, which he characterized as incapable of coexistence or accepting peace.

Yaqoub further stated that Hayran district and the liberated areas will remain a beacon and starting point for other regions. He dismissed any possibility of truces with the Houthis given their ongoing assaults on civilians, while extending gratitude for the international condemnations, particularly the attention given by His Excellency President Al-Alimi and the government.

In a statement by guests, Professor Mohammed Al-Harithi emphasized the critical necessity of serious preparation to liberate Yemen from the Houthi grip and rescue citizens under their control, highlighting the importance of strength and readiness to impose peace.

Al-Harithi underscored the need for both spiritual and material strength, urging self-improvement and enhanced readiness for the decisive confrontation that will terminate the militia’s criminal activities.

Sheikh Mohammed Omar Kadim offered prayers for the martyrs and recovery for the wounded, vehemently denouncing the Houthi actions, which he noted had escalated to targeting peaceful civilians, even during the Iftar period. He confirmed Hayran's steadfast loyalty to the Republic across its political factions and tribes, suggesting the attacks reflect the deep-seated malice the militias harbor for its people.

Kadim concluded by calling upon the government and political forces to allocate greater attention and development resources to the areas within the Hayran district.
