Giant Brigades, Shield of the Nation Secure Bab al-Mandab and Perim Island

The Giant Brigades and Shield of the Nation forces announced on Friday the complete recapture of the Bab al-Mandab strait and Perim Island, following an extensive military operation supported by the Arab Coalition's air force. The operation commenced early Friday morning.

A military source stated that the forces successfully liberated Al-Ardi camp and gained control of coastal guard observation posts, in addition to reclaiming the mountain range overlooking the strait, which holds strategic importance for securing maritime navigation.

The source added that the operation resulted in the complete liberation of Perim Island from Houthi presence, confirming that the strait, the island, and the strategic positions overlooking them are now outside the control of the Houthi militia.

It was noted that the completion of control over Bab al-Mandab and Perim Island followed the expiration of the deadline given to the surrounded militia elements in the area for days, as part of the military operation aimed at regaining control of vital locations and securing the strategic strait.

According to the source, the forces participating in the operation, with the support of the Arab Coalition's air force, managed to reclaim the targeted sites, including the heights and observation posts that overlook the Bab al-Mandab strait.
