Aden International Airport has resumed air traffic and flight operations on Thursday, one day after it was targeted by ballistic missile strikes attributed to the Houthi militia. A navigation official confirmed that specialized technical teams successfully repaired damage to the airport's runway caused by the missile bombardment the previous day. This repair work has enabled the airport's operational activities to return to normal. The Ministry of Transport had announced on Wednesday that the Houthi militia attacked the airport twice consecutively with ballistic missiles. This brings the total number of attacks on the airport to six in a short period, an escalation the ministry described as extremely dangerous to the safety of air navigation and civilian lives. The ministry held the Houthi militia fully responsible for these attacks and their resulting consequences. It urged the international community and relevant United Nations organizations, particularly the International Civil Aviation Organization, to explicitly condemn these violations. The ministry called for urgent and decisive international action to halt these repeated aggressions and to ensure the protection of airports and civilian facilities, recognizing them as vital infrastructure protected under international humanitarian law. |
