UN Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Warns of Yemen Escalation

The United Nations has reiterated its condemnation of cross-border attacks by the Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia, including recent assaults on Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which resulted in casualties.

UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric expressed grave concern regarding the escalating military operations within Yemen and its surrounding regions. This escalation coincides with intensifying combat on multiple fronts, including in Taiz.

Dujarric emphasized that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law. He urged all parties to adhere to their legal obligations and refrain from direct attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Furthermore, he called upon all parties to exercise the utmost caution to minimize risks to civilians and civilian facilities at all times.
