Yemen experienced a significant escalation of military operations on Thursday afternoon as intensive airstrikes targeted numerous Houthi military sites and facilities across several governorates amidst heightened conflict on various fronts. According to local sources, the strikes were concentrated in the governorates of Saada, Marib, Al Jawf, Taiz, Sanaa, Ibb, Raymah, Al Bayda, Abyan, and Hudaydah. In Hudaydah, an airstrike hit Al Hudaydah International Airport, with reports of explosions in the vicinity and the targeting of Houthi barracks. In Ibb, strikes reportedly struck the headquarters of the 55th Armored Brigade in the Yirim district, a site identified by sources as being used by the Houthis for military purposes, including ballistic missile launches. Communication networks in the As Siyanah district were also reportedly targeted. Further strikes in Raymah hit a communication network in Jabal Barad, Kasmah district. Two airstrikes in the Sanaa governorate targeted a communication network in the Bani Matar district. In Al Bayda, sources indicated that sites and arms depots were struck in the Jamil and Jarjara mountains, the Al Nasreen area in Al Nasifah, and Jabal Al Azimiya in the city of Al Bayda. Houthi positions in the mountain range of the Mukeiras region were also affected. The airstrikes in Saada are part of a broader wave of aerial operations that have impacted the governorate, particularly the Al Dhahir, Al Safraa, and Aal Salem areas. Air operations also encompassed Houthi sites in Marib and Al Jawf, as well as frontlines in Taiz, where military operations against the Houthi militia continue, with reports of targeting military sites, arms depots, vehicles, and reinforcements. The governorate of Taiz has witnessed a notable military escalation, with operations focusing on Houthi military positions, gatherings, reinforcements, and capabilities. Military sources announced in recent days the execution of dozens of strikes in the province. The widespread nature of Thursday's airstrikes indicates a significant expansion of aerial operations against Houthi-controlled locations. A consolidated and verified toll of casualties and material damage resulting from these strikes was not available at the time of reporting. |
