A ten-year-old child was killed by a landmine planted by the Houthi militia in a farming field in Al-Jarrahi district, south of Hodeidah Governorate in western Yemen.

Local sources reported that the child, Bakr Salem Dawood Aidaroos, aged 10, died on Tuesday evening when an explosive device, laid by the Houthi militia, detonated in a field in the village of Al-Jar, within Al-Jarrahi district.

The sources added that the incident occurred while the child was tending to sheep, noting that the explosion resulted in the child's immediate death and dismemberment.

Sources indicated that the village of Al-Jar, situated southeast of Al-Jarrahi district and bordering the Dubbas mountains, is one of several villages where the militia had previously planted landmines and dug extensive tunnels in anticipation of advancing government forces.
