A young man was found dead with two gunshot wounds inside a khat farm in the Shabhan district of Ibb province, an area under Houthi control. Investigations have reportedly implicated the victim's father in the killing. Local sources stated that the deceased, identified as Radman Yahya Al-Ghanmi, was discovered two days prior. The fatal wounds were inflicted by a "Chiqui" type firearm, according to preliminary reports. The incident occurred within a khat plantation in the region. Following the discovery of his son's body, the father reportedly went to the Shabhan police station to file a report. In his statement, he accused residents of the nearby village of being responsible for the crime. However, security authorities initiated an investigation that led to suspicion falling upon the victim's father. Sources indicate that the father is now believed to have committed the murder, subsequently attempting to conceal the weapon and alter his clothing to mislead investigators. He then proceeded to file a false report to obstruct the inquiry. The security forces have apprehended the father, who has been detained and referred to the Public Prosecution. Legal proceedings are underway to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the young man's death. |
