Yemen's 6th Military Region announced on Wednesday evening that it carried out drone strikes targeting positions and vehicles belonging to the Houthi militia in active combat fronts.

According to a statement from the media office of the 22nd Infantry Brigade on the platform "X", video footage released documented aspects of the armed forces' drone operations, which targeted Houthi positions, vehicles, and personnel. The strikes reportedly resulted in casualties and equipment losses, though no specific figures were provided.

The accompanying description of the footage indicated moments of targeting Houthi military objectives. The extent of the claimed losses could not be independently verified.

These strikes occur amidst ongoing escalation across several combat fronts in Yemen, with government forces intensifying their use of drones to target Houthi gatherings, vehicles, and military positions. In recent days, government forces had announced airstrikes in Marib, Taiz, and the West Coast, concurrent with field operations on other fronts.

The 6th Military Region's operations are primarily concentrated in Al Jawf Governorate and parts of northern Marib, where fronts have recently experienced increased confrontations and military movements. On September 9th, military sources reported that forces affiliated with the 6th Region, supported by other units, launched an offensive in eastern Al Jawf, capturing positions and fortifications previously held by the Houthi militia.

The current escalation is part of widening military operations between government forces and the Houthi militia, following a period of relative calm. Government forces have announced air and ground operations targeting Houthi positions in several governorates in recent weeks.
