An armed tribal gathering was held by the Qadiri family and tribesmen of Radah and Qayfah in Al Bayda governorate to protest ongoing injustices and violations against citizens, specifically the deliberate killing and running over of Sheikh Saddam Nasr Qadiri by a Houthi vehicle. The gathering also aimed to discuss appropriate responses to this crime. Upon arrival at the Qadiri family square, Sheikh Abdul Fattah Al-Jofi delivered a speech, stating, "We used to say if something wrong happened to someone and no one spoke out against it, we would say 'it will lead to being run over.' Today, we have reached that point; people are being run over by vehicles." This was a direct reference to the deliberate killing and running over of Sheikh Saddam Nasr Qadiri by a Houthi vehicle days prior. He continued, "There is no longer dignity for the citizen, no chivalry in this government, no mercy, and no justice. Even the Children of Israel were more merciful than this oppressive government," referring to the unrecognized Houthi militia government. Al-Jofi added, "The Houthi government places individuals in positions of power only through the strength of men," emphasizing, "We will not tolerate falsehood, nor will we tolerate oppression, whether from the government or any other entity." This underscored their resolve not to remain silent in the face of continued Houthi oppression and violations against the local population. The city of Radah and the Qayfah region are experiencing escalating unrest and tension due to the persistent violations and crimes committed by Houthi security leaders and elements against local residents. |
